Actor and model Mahima Chaudhary might be in for some trouble as the Lucknow police are likely to question her over her alleged links with Magnum Group - the finance firm under probe in connection with a multi-crore fraud.
Senior superintendent of police (SSP) JR Goud said the actress would be questioned on the basis of the claims she made as the brand ambassador of the real estate company earlier this year.
"We would also investigate in what capacity she was connected with the company," added the SSP.
Magnum Group's director-brothers - Arun Kumar Chaturvedi and Varun Kumar Chaturvedi - allegedly used investors' money to expand their real estate business and did not pay back even the principal amount of the victims' hard earned money.
From offering plots at low rates to attractive returns on deposits - the Chaturvedi brothers had used all the tricks in the trade to dupe hundreds of gullible investors across Uttar Pradesh of over Rs 50 crore.
A probe had been ordered to find out details of the property and land acquired by the company directors.
Goud said the officials concerned had been asked to collect details of each and every property owned by the company and its directors.
Magnum Group’s multi-crore fraud came to fore after one Asif Rabbani lodged a complaint last week that he had been duped of Rs two lakh.
