Irked over Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's comments over Rita Bahuguna Joshi's alleged derogatory remarks against her, UP Chief Minister Mayawati on Saturday asked him to speak about the statements on Gandhi family made in a book, penned by the UPCC chief.

"It would have been better if Rahul had also given a lecture on the comments made by Joshi on Gandhi family in her book on her late father, former Chief Minister Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna," Mayawati said at a press conference here.

"The references in the book are derogatory and not even mentionable," she added.

Rahul had said on riday that Joshi's anger and sentiments against the state government were "genuine".

Mayawati, however, refused to comment on Union minister Sri Prakash Jaiswal's demand for a CBI enquiry into the arson at Joshi's house here.

"Restrict the questions on the topic on which the press conference has been convened," Mayawati said.
