Several Muslim clerics and professionals invited for the interaction with Team Anna member Arvind Kejriwal stayed away, even as eminent Shia cleric Maulana Kalbe Sadiq expressed conditional support for the group's anti-corruption movement.

Maulana Shah Fazlur Rahman Waizi, Imam of the historic Tile Wali Masjid in the old city, Padma Shri Dr Mansoor Hasan and Zafar Yab Jilani, advocate and executive member of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) were among the invitees who did not attend the meeting.

Kejriwal called on Maulana Sadiq, vice-president of the AIMPLB, at his residence. "I am with the movement as long as it remains apolitical and secular," he told Kejriwal. Kejriwal's visit is being seen as an attempt to allay fears on Team Anna's movement acquiring communal tones.
