Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati today reviewed security situation in the state post Ayodhya verdict and directed administrative and police officers to keep a close watch on elements who may try to vitiate the atmosphere.
"Some notorious elements may attempt to influence and provoke people who may get swayed and the law and order situation could be disturbed," Mayawati said during a high-level meeting to review law and order in all 72 districts.
Mayawati said that till the time the Ayodhya dispute reached the Supreme Court and a stay was granted, no laxity should be committed on the law and order front.
She said special vigil should be maintained in the wake of upcoming festivals.
