The CBI Sep 28 filed a closure report after a probe into Sachan's death and cited forensic findings to claim that the doctor killed himself in the Lucknow prison June 22, 2011.

Malti's counsel V.K. Shahi alleged that the CBI closure report was incorrect and biased.

The doctor's widow alleged that she was not given a copy of the closure report and other documents.

The CBI concluded in its 111-page closure report that Sachan's death was a suicide.

Sachan, who served as deputy chief medical officer with the family welfare department, was found dead in the jail toilet. His body had deep gashes and a leather belt was tied around his neck.

Sachan was arrested in April 2011 for allegedly ordering the murder of chief medical officers BP Singh and Vinod Arya. He was also accused of embezzling funds under the health mission.
