Union water resources minister Uma Bharti on Tuesday claimed that the Ram temple movement acquired full legitimacy after the Allahabad high court in its 2010 verdict observed that the middle portion of the disputed site at Ayodhya belonged to ‘Ram Lalla’.

“Now the remaining issues will be cleared through court,” said Bharti. The union minister was in Gorakhpur to attend the centenary anniversary of Baba Gambheernath who was a saint of the Nath sect associated with the famous Gorakhnath temple.

Union minister of state for external affairs VK Singh and Gorakhpur MP Yogi Adityanath were also present on the occasion. Singh arrived here a day earlier and also attended the opening ceremony of the event on Monday. Later, Bharti and Singh jointly released a postal stamp on Baba Gambeernath. She further said VK Singh, also a former chief of the Army staff, was her hero and Yogi Adityanath was like her younger brother. Referring to Singh’s contribution to the army and later his role in anti-corruption campaigns, Bharti said, “He is my hero as while serving the Indian Army he took on enemies and later fought corruption inside the country.”
