Uttar Pradesh’s Kasganj town has gone into a tizzy after sleazy videos of young men and women at a rave party surfaced recently.
The pictures were from a party that the police busted last fortnight. Twenty-one nude youngsters, dancing to sensuous numbers with bottles of branded liquor, contraceptives, aphrodisiacs and psychotropic substances, were arrested in the swoop.
“We found among other things, six freshly used and four unused condoms, 42 empty beer bottles, two dozen whisky bottles from Haryana, a laptop, and 25 mobile phones, from different rooms,” circle officer Rajesh Kumar Srivastav told HT.
Of the 16 men caught in the town, just 350km from here, 11 were locals, while others were from neighbouring towns. All the five women hailed from New Delhi.
Most of the men and women were married and aged between 20 and 24 years, the police said.
The organisers of the party had rented a marriage hall, decorated it, and hired a disc jockey to make it appear as if a wedding was going on inside, the police said. The arrested were charged with trafficking and sent to jail the next day.
The police suspect that people who slipped out of the party before the police raid might be circulating the MMS clips.
“I can’t believe that this can happen in the town which is otherwise known for delicious mithai and ghee,” said Ajay Tiwari, a local social activist.
The police believe rave parties, which were earlier restricted to metros, are fast gripping smaller towns and cities in the state.
“The Kasganj bust is only a tip of the iceberg. We will examine all the phone call details in the recovered mobiles and data available in the
laptop with the court’s permission to get more information,” Srivastav said.
