RLD to seek disqualification of its two MPs who have joined SP

The Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) has decided file a petition to the Lok Sabha speaker demanding disqualification of its two MPs who have joined the Samajwai Party.

Prior to that the party, will also issue show a cause notice to both the leaders, Sarita Baghel, MP from Hatharas and Devendra Nagpal, MP from Amroha, asking them to explain as to why action should not be taken against them for joining the SP and also campaigning for the SP as being reported by the media.

“We have prepared to file a petition to the Lok Sabha speaker to demand disqualification of both the MPs under the Anti-defection law,” RLD state president, Munna Singh Chauhan told the Hindustan Times.

He said that Sarita Baghel had already been declared SP candidate from the Agra Lok Sabha constituency while Devendra Nagpal had joined the SP was in the queue for the ticket.

The issue is also expected to be discussed at the party’s national executive meeting to be presided over by RLD national president, Ajit Singh in Delhi on July 18 prior to the two-day state executive beginning at Vrindavan on July 20.
