The RSS on Monday said associating the outfit with terrorism was a "political conspiracy" and banning it was "impossible" since the organisation was "in the hearts of the people."
"Relating RSS with terrorism is a political conspiracy. Banning it is mere impossible as the organisation lies in the hearts of people", its Joint General Secretary Duttatriye Hosbale said while addressing a programme here.
"When we talk of Hindutva, we are related to terrorist organisations Lashkar-e-taiba and SIMI. Several allegations were levelled against the RSS earlier but we have proved that we work in the interest of humanity and common man," he said.
"We never worked underground like naxals. Whatever we did, we did in front of the society and for its cause," he said adding the RSS always talked of nationalism and relating the outfit to terrorism and seeking its ban was "painful".
"During 1965 Indo-Pak war, Sangh volunteers came forward and served the country. The then Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru even gave a place to an RSS team in the Republic day parade for its devotion towards country," he said.
