Congress President Sonia Gandhi today inaugurated a newly constructed building of a sub-post office in her Lok Sabha constituency, Rae Bareli.
Gandhi began her three-day visit by paying tributes at the Shaheed Smarak in Saraini to martyrs who had laid down their lives during the freedom struggle in 1942.
Local Congress leaders claimed that the sub-post office building came up 48 years after land allotment.
During her stay in her constituency, Gandhi is expected to meet party workers and hold interaction with the local people, party sources said.
She is also scheduled to launch Wi-Max services of the BSNL at Dalmau.
