With 18 more patients reported on Tuesday, the number of swine flu cases rose to 941 in the state capital. Two cases from Bareilly and one each from Amethi and Barabanki also surfaced during the day, taking the statewide figure to 1,275.
Those who tested positive for H1N1 in Lucknow included Ishwa Devi, 62, Atul Awasthi, 25, Vivek Chawla, 30, Abhishek Yadav, 22, Anuj Chawla, 34, VN Pandey, 50, Aradhya, 2, Manjit, 62, Rekha Mishra, 55, Sachi 40, Geeta, 51, Pramod Kumar, 32, Akhilesh Kumar, 43, Abhishek, 19, AK Rai, 2, Soni Vaish, 34, L Lama, 47 and Priyanka Kumari, 18.
Dr SNS Yadav, CMO, Lucknow, claimed that out of the total cases of swine flu in Lucknow more than 800 patients had recovered fully.
He said swine flu was just like any seasonal flu and mostly affected the elderly and kids. If proper medication and necessary care are taken, swine flu subsides in a week’s time, he advised.
As a preventive measure, health teams from CMO office visited the houses of patients who tested positive for H1N1 infection.
The teams gave medicines and necessary instructions to the families and their neighbours. They also visited the residences of those who had tested positive earlier to check their condition.
