Two more swine flu cases were reported in the state capital on Wednesday. With this, the total number of people affected by the H1N1 virus in the city this year has gone up to 13, said health officials.
A patient who tested positive for the virus on Wednesday is a resident of Alambagh and undergoing treatment in a hospital in the area, said chief medical officer (Lucknow) SN Yadav. He said a team had been sent to make sure that the patient was being given treatment.
A team of the CMO office, including Dr Akmal and Dr Shakti Anand, visited the hospital and also took the address of the patient.
Later on Wednesday night, a woman resident of Gomti Nagar also tested positive for H1N1. She has been admitted to KGMU.
Two patients who tested positive a few days back had died while two other critical patients were undergoing treatment. One in Gomti Nagar and six in Vikas Nagar were under observation but at home. Besides, one patient was missing as the address and phone number given to KGMU staff turned out to be incorrect.
The condition of the patient, who was reported on Tuesday, worsened on Wednesday morning and was shifted to the SGPGI. So far, Lucknow has reported the maximum cases of H1N1 in the state.
