Rebel BSP leader RK Chaudhary is planning to challenge Mayawati by fielding candidates on 100 seats in the UP assembly election.

As Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president Mayawati addressed a rally at the Kanshi Ram Memorial on Sunday to mark the 10th death anniversary of Dalit icon Kanshi Ram, Bahujan Samaj Swabhiman Sangharsh Samiti (BS4) chief Chaudhary said he would enter an alliance with a national party for the UP polls.

“Our target is to contest on 100 seats in the state. We held 150 meetings in Kanpur, Lucknow, Allahabad and Faizabad divisions between September 11 and October 2. The selection of seats will be done by our party workers,” he said.

Predicting that no party would get a clear majority in the UP election, he said, “No party has announced its plan for the polls. In fact, all parties are confused and there has been no alliance yet.”
