The state government on Monday night removed senior superintendent of police (SSP) Meerut, Deepak Kumar. Kumar has been attached to DGP office, Lucknow.

The state government on Monday night removed senior superintendent of police (SSP) Meerut, Deepak Kumar. Kumar has been attached to DGP office, Lucknow.

Superintendent of police, Ballia, Onkar Singh has been appointed SSP Meerut. Raju Babu Singh attached to DGP office has been appointed SP Ballia.

Sources said Kumar was removed following the failure of the police to check panchayat organized in Khera village on Sunday.
