Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi’s aide Amit Shah arrived in Lucknow on Tuesday with an upset stomach but nevertheless got busy pushing the youth agenda in Uttar Pradesh.

Though the booth-talk aimed at ensuring BJP’s reach in over 1.2 lakh booths across UP figured prominently in Shah’s discussions with party leaders, he appeared keen on wooing the youth.

Shah tasked the members of Bhartiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) with taking to wall writing and social media to spread the party’s reach in rural areas and cyber space.

He also met the newly appointed BJYM office bearers and appeared unmindful of the controversy over selection of some sons of party leaders in the recently declared state committee.

The BJP leader exhorted new team members to find out ways to make inroads into the hearts of youth.

Shah also took stock of the party’s preparation for the Lok Sabha polls, checked if the party’s organizational structure was being revived at the grassroots level and asked BJP leaders to counter the state’s ruling Samajwadi Party by exposing its “misdeeds and blatant appeasement of minorities.”

Interestingly, Shah was also tipped to meet some Muslim leaders, an activity which has been postponed.
