Call it the micro PR management or the charm offensive of the BJP's prime ministerial candidate, brand Narendra Modi is being sold to every community.

Even at the mega engineering exhibition IETSS-EMAT here, Modi's image makers are at work, highlighting his industrial policies and vision as chief minister. The Chamber of Commerce and Industrial Undertakings (CICU) is behind IETSS (International Engineering Technology and Sourcing Show).

At the Industrial Extension Bureau (a Gujarat government organisation) pavilion, visitors receive a special booklet that includes "50 Golden Facts about Gujarat". NaMo is on big placards on the counter and special staff educates the masses about his achievements.

The Gujarat bureau, however, is the only state government agency that has purchased a counter at the expo. The stall is the biggest of more than 400 participating companies.

"Since the Gujarat government is attracting huge global investment, the achievements' promotion will help reach further goals," said extension bureau deputy manager DM Shukla, who is leads the team in Ludhiana to attract more investment.

Asked why the extraordinary thrust on projecting NaMo, Shulka replied: "What is wrong in it? He is our chief minister and head of the state; and all development being done is under his guidance." The Gujarat booth was the centre of attraction for three days, where many visitors enrolled to know more about the state.

Even the ambassadors from Arab and African countries were seen praising Modi at the expo on Monday for the development factors. Asked about Modi, Republic of Congo high commissioner Fancois Balumune said NaMo was a force to reckon with in India in industrial development. "I have found him a popular man but only time will tell about his fate as leader of this country," he said.
