The Muzaffarnagar police on Friday arrested additional accounts officer of Christian Medical College (CMC) here for receiving cash for seats.
Employee Valentine was arrested in a police raid on the CMC's residential quarters at night. Muzaffarnagar police sub- inspector Narinder Singh led the crackdown. The squad also discussed the matter with principal SM Bhatti. "Bhatti seems not involved but we are still investigating," said the SI.
One of the accused, Anup, was arrested in December last year. Hunt is on for more. Complainant Prabhat Panwar accompanied the raiding squad. Principal Bhatti refuted Panwar's allegations as a deliberate act to tarnish the institution's image.
