The fifth national conference of Indian Society for Rational Clinical Pharmacology on 'Quest for responsible use of medicines' concluded here on Saturday at Dayanand Medical College and Hospital.
The concluding day featured session on 'challenges in medical educations'. Dr Chetna Desai from Ahmedabad and Dr MC Gupta from Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Science (PGIMS), Rohtak, spoke on integration of basic and clinical pharmacology. They highlighted the drawbacks of current system and options to improve it.
Other prominent speakers who also spoke on the occasion were medical superintendent and head of medicine Dr Sandeep Puri, head of gastroenterology Dr Ajit Sood and Dr SP Dhaneria from Raipur.
The conference ended with a panel discussion on 'Antibiotic Policy Development'. Organising secretary Dr Sandeep KaushaI said such conferences were of great importance for the students and the faculty and helped to evolve better patient care system through detailed interactions with experts of the field.
