On orders of Ludhiana deputy commissioner (DC) Rajat Aggarwal, district education officer (DEO), secondary, Charanjit Singh, has asked city government schools to educate students about dowry, drugs, and on keeping the environment clean.
Singh urged students to pledge to not drive vehicles without a license. School heads have been asked to educate students in this regard during the morning assembly.
Talking to Hindustan Times, Charanjit said, “As per directions of the DC, we have directed schools to create awareness among students to keep their school premises clean. There is a need to educate students as they tend to remember what they learn at this age. With most underage students driving two-wheelers, they are risking their and others life as well. Therefore, there is a need to educate them.”
School heads will send a report to their cluster in charges about these sessions during the morning assemblies. They will also keep a record of the reports send by schools.
