Government College for Girls (GCG) has now got approval from Panjab University (PU) to start three new courses - MCom, MSc (information technology) and post-graduation diploma in computer applications (PGDCA)- from the current academic session.
Talking to HT, Gurminder Kaur, principal, said, “We have got the approval to start three new courses from PU, a letter regarding that has already been sent to the college by the university, which will probably reach by tomorrow.”
She added students were demanding to initiate these courses at the college.
“The classes will be started from the next month, for which, we will recruit new teachers soon. As we will receive the official conformation probably by tomorrow, we can only tell you about the number of seats after that,” she said.
She added that the last date to submit the admission forms is July 11.
“We are running the BBA course in the college for the last two years and want to continue with the course, so we have applied for affiliation of the third-year also,” said Kaur.
Giving information, the principal said that students could check the merit list of Class 11 (medical and non-medical) on the notice board of the college.
“The cut off for Class 11 medical is 94.92% and no-medical is 95%,” she said.
Adding further, she said, “The admission process will start from July 7 and interviews for BCA, BBA and BCom, first year, will be held on the same day.
However, the interviews for BCom and BSc will be held on July 7 and 8, respectively.
