Harbhajan Maan, along with the cast of upcoming Punjabi film 'Haani', visited the city for promotion, here on Sunday.
The film marks the actor's comeback after more than two years. He said, "I was looking for a change in the regional cinema. The Punjabi cinema today, though successful, is getting synonymous with vulgar comedy and weak stories. I wanted to make a film that brings the focus of regional cinema back to where it should be- life in the villages and popular concerns.
The film also stars Sarabjeet Cheema, Anuj Sachdeva and Sonia Maan. It marks the debut of actress Mahreen Kaleka, a student of law at Punjabi University, who was earlier seen in Maan's music video Satrangi Peengh.
The film narrates the story of two generations and two couples; one based in the Punjab of 1964 and the other in 2013. Maan said, "The audience will see my new look in the film. I undertook a rigorous three-week workshop in Mumbai for the fight scenes.'
The music is given by Jaidev and lyrics by Babu Singh Maan. The cast also visited Westend Mall and Guru Nanak Girls College, Model Town, after Ansal Plaza Mall.
The film releases on September 6.
