A poetry book entitled 'Man Tandoor' written by Gurbhajan Singh Gill, former senior editor (Punjabi), Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), was released by SS Johl, chancellor, Central University of Punjab, Bathinda.
On this occasion, Baldev Singh Dhillon, PAU vice-chancellor; NS Malhi, vice-chancellor, Guru Kashi University (GKU); Talwandi Sabo, Bathinda were also present. Currently, Gill is serving as the director, planning and development, GKU.
Congratulating the poet, Johl said this poetry book covers all facets of life and will have a deep impact on the readers. “During 40 years of his tenure as a poet, Gill has identified and studied the social problems closely.”
In his book, the poet has called upon the directionless youth to come forward and make key contributions to the society, he added.
In his remarks, Dhillon highlighted that poetry has its own value and is a gift to the society. He said, “I am happy that Gill is continuing to serve the society by penning down his thoughts.”
Dhillon also expressed concern over the influence of westernisation on the Indian society and emphasised on reading books.
Malhi praised Gill for possessing vast knowledge on diverse topics and for his presence of mind.
