NGO Iamango organised two-day collection camps for relief material for Uttarakhand disaster victims at six different locations in the city, which concluded on Sunday.

The collected material will be delivered to base camp of NGO Goonj at Rishikesh. Citizens generously donated material like blankets, sweaters, jackets, shawls, caps, socks, gloves and cash to purchase tarpaulin tents, said Radhika Jaitwani, a social activist and a volunteer at NGO Iamango.

Sanjay Gupta of Supreme Textiles donated a truck load of sweaters; Sweety Ghai, Anju Sood, Vivek and Shruti Jain donated woollens and blankets; Jasmeet Kukreja collected funds for a 100 tents and 100 raincoats; and Apollo Hospital contributed hundreds of blankets, dresses and beddings.

"It is expected that four to five trucks of material would be dispatched on July 2," Jaitwani said.
