Students of Ryan Int'l visit Jalandhar Doordarshan Kendra

Three students and a teacher of Ryan International School, Ludhiana, visited the Doordarshan Kendra in Jalandhar on Thursday.

The students, who visited the centre under their media learning project, were welcomed by Gauri Dutt Sharma, director, Doordarshan Kendra, Jalandhar. Sharma appreciated the students for their inquisitive bent of mind. The students interacted with Jasbir Kaur, head of production and chief engineer, and Pawan Negi, sound production head.

The students were shown various departments in the studio and the production process of some programmers. They also got information about earthing, transmission through satellites etc. The students also witnessed the live telecast of 15 minutes news headlines. The interactive session proved beneficial for the students as they clarified many of their doubts and queries and learnt the technical knowhow of production and transmission.

School principal Parveena John said, "All our students have the will to learn new things and venture into areas new for them."
