Teaching in private colleges throughout the country was affected on Friday as thousands of teachers were on mass casual leave and participated in a rally held at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi.

Nearly 43 teachers from Ludhiana district also participated in the rally. Teachers are unhappy with the new guidelines, which will affect the promotions of the teachers.

One of the student requesting anonymity, said, "As the regular teachers were on mass casual leave, so guest faculty were taking the lectures but I have attended only two lectures today as guest faculty was clubbing the classes."

Narinder Sandhu, principal, Ramgariha Girls College, said, "Mass casual leave by regular teachers has not affected the teaching as we have a lot of guest faculty teachers in our college and they have taken the classes today."
