A Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) court directed the town inspector of Adhartal police station in Jabalpur on Wednesday to lodge an FIR against Bollywood actor Aamir Khan and nine others over publication of the movie PK's poster, that shows Khan nude, in local newspapers.
A complaint was filed in the district court for direction to police to lodge an FIR under Section 292 (sale of obscene book, etc) and Section 294 (sale of obscene object to young person) of Indian Penal Code (IPC).
PK has been directed by Rajkumar Hirani and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. The Film and Television Producers Guild of India president Mukesh Bhatt and three local Hindi dailies were made respondents in the complaint.
JMFC RK Dheria relied on the Supreme Court judgment in Sikiri Vasu vs State of UP and others of the year 2007 and issued the directives to the police to register the FIR against Khan and others.
The complainant advocate Amit Kumar Sahu said the nude poster of the actor, widely circulated through newspapers, is vulgar and obscene, having a tendency to corrupt the minds of people and thus attracts provisions of IPC for action against those responsible.
