Isn’t it annoying when you wake up and scroll through your Facebook newsfeed and all you see is in-your-face ads forcing you to buy something? And if that doesn’t grind your gears then those cringeworthy status updates by people will definitely do the trick. From ranting about what’s wrong with the world to posting travel pictures––such posts will send your mind into a tizzy. If you’re one of those who don’t want to start their day with a headache, take a look at these quick Facebook hacks to clean your newsfeed.
OFF WITH THE ADS
Whenever you see an ad you will notice a downward pointing arrow on the top right-hand side. Once you click on it you’ll see various options. If you don’t want to see the ad on your newsfeed, then click on hide ad. If someone has tagged you on that particular ad and you don’t want to be troubled by notifications, then select turn off notifications.
However, if you want to completely remove ads from your newsfeed then go to settings and then select ads. Once you select ads then there will be four options on your right hand side. One by one, select each option and change the setting from yes to no.
Getting rid of those annoying status updates
To get rid of annoying posts by friends or by your liked pages, again click on the downward pointed arrow on the top right hand side of that particular post. You will notice the option of hide post. So if you want a temporary solution, then you opt for this one. However, if you want a permanent solution, then click on unfollow.
Just go to your friends profile and you will notice the option of following on the right hand side. Click on it to unfollow. In case you just want to turn off the notification, then while right clicking on the post you can see the option to turn off notification for that particular post.
Customising the overall setting
To customise your entire news feed,click on the downward pointed arrow at the top right hand side corner of your Facebook page. You will notice the option of newsfeed preferences. Select it and you will notice four options. The first option is for prioritising which friend’s posts or which liked pages post you want to see first or don’t want to see. Second option allows you to select a list of friends of liked pages whose posts you don’t want to see in your newsfeed. Third option is to reconnect with friends or like pages that you have unfollowed. And the last option is help you suggest Facebook pages that you might like.
