1996 Italian Grand Prix: Michael Schumacher had already won for Ferrari at the Spanish GP that year but was well and truly embraced by the team’s passionate fans when he won at Monza. It was Ferrari’s first win at their home track since 1988 and the first time the team had won more than one race in a season since 1983.

1971 Italian Grand Prix: Monza used to produce the closest racing in F1 until chicanes were constructed in 1972 to control rising speeds. So it was fitting that the 1971 edition produced a breathtaking display of close racing. The difference at the finish line between race winner Peter Genthin and second placed Ronnie Peterson was 0.01 seconds and just 0.61 seconds separated the first five finishers.
