Hamilton leaves the 'nest'

McLaren have been instrumental in getting Lewis Hamilton into F1 and putting him in a position to win the world championship right from his debut season in 2007. So it comes as a surprise for Hamilton to sign for the team that once tried to purchase a majority stake in McLaren.

As Mercedes tries to establish itself on the F1 grid, they have opted for youth over experience in their decision to let go of the man who finished higher than Rosberg six times in the seven races they both finished this year.
