In any sport it is rare to find someone who is not only likeable but a proven winner too. Kimi Raikkonen has proved himself to be just that and his win in Abu Dhabi only cemented this reputation.

The prodigy
Raikkonen was 21 years old and had competed in just 23 car races before being scouted by the Sauber F1 team. His inexperience did not stop him from scoring a sixth place finish in his debut F1 race in 2001.

The contender
In only his third year in F1 (2003), the Finn finished two points behind Michael Schumacher, who won his sixth title that year.

The free spirit
Raikkonen once entered a snowmobile race while wearing a gorilla suit and using the moniker of James Hunt (the 1976 F1 champion) to avoid being caught by Ferrari, his employers at the time. He completes Formula 1

The champ
As Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso tripped over each other in the race for the 2007 F1 title, Raikkonen won three of the last four races to snatch the crown by a single point.
