His action stunts and comic timing have kept us glued to his films such as Rush Hour, Shanghai Knights and Police Story. And now, his fans in India can hope to see the award-winning Hollywood actor and director Jackie Chan in person.
The Chinese-origin Hollywood star will be in Delhi on June 18 to attend the inauguration of the China Film Festival that will take place at the Siri Fort Complex. During his two-day visit (June 18-19), the 59-year-old actor is also expected to attend the screening of the his latest movie, Chinese Zodiac.
“Jackie Chan is visiting Delhi in conjunction with the China Film Festival being held here between June 18 - 23, 2013. Chinese Zodiac, his latest film, also directed by him, will be the opening film of the six-day festival. He will be part of a 20-member delegation visiting India,” says Irfan Alam, member secretary, India China Economic and Cultural Council (ICEC).
This, however, is not Chan’s first visit to India. The actor shot several scenes of his film, The Myth (2005), that also starred Bollywood actor Mallika Sherawat, in Hampi in Karnataka in 2004. He also visited Chennai in 2008 for the audio launch of Kamal Hasaan’s Dasavatharam. Besides Chan, who is the biggest draw for Indian fans, the Chinese Film Festival will also have other members of the Chinese film fraternity.
The chan connect Jackie Chan, 59, is a Chinese-origin Hollywood actor and director, based out of Hong Kong, who has won worldwide fame with films such as Rush Hour, Karate Kid, Shanghai Knights and Police Story. He has acted in 150 films and made his acting debut at the age of 8. Chan is a martial arts expert. This will be Chan’s third visit to India.
