10 cases registered by police for violations on Gokulashthami

The Mumbai police have registered 10 cases for violations in Mumbai against govinda mandals and a few truck drivers on the occasion of Gokulashthami on Thursday. All the ten cases are registered in the central region, officials said.
Five of the total cases were registered against mandals for violating the Supreme Court order, restricting them to a height of 20 feet and not using minors for the human pyramid.
The Shivaji Park police station registered one such case of apex court order’s violation while four violations were reported under the jurisdiction of Kalachowky police station.
The dahi handi organiser and chief of ‘Golden Krida Mandal’ have been booked for violation of the set guidelines at Ranade Road in Dadar. The dahi handi organisers at Dadar have also been booked for noise pollution.
The Kalachowky police have registered four cases against a party worker of the area along with the mandal presidents for surpassing the human pyramid limit. The violation was reported at Shahid Bhagatsingh Maidan in Kalachowk.
Five truck drivers were booked for rash driving and act endangering life and personal safety of others. The police said the truck drivers were carrying extra persons on the truck thus risking their safety. The cases were registered at NC Kelkar Marg in Dadar, Veer Kotwal circle at NC Kelkar Marg, LJ Road in Dadar opposite Shiv Sena Bhavan and at Gadkari Chowk at LJ road. The fifth case was registered at LBS Marg in Kurla.
No arrests have been made so far in any of the cases.
