Police have arrested a 20-year-old man from Bhayander area in Thane after he climbed three floors of a building on Tuesday to enter a flat of a woman who allegedly insulted his mother, officials said on Wednesday.

The video of his climbing the building and breaking the glass windows of the woman’s apartment with a sword has gone viral. In the video, Digvijay Singh Jodha is seen shouting and hurling abuses, and the woman is heard screaming for help.

Jodha will be produced in a court later on Wednesday.

After the woman refused to open the door, he climbed three floors through the parapet. He broke the window panes of her house as he could not get inside the flat.

The college student was handed over to the police by neighbours after he climbed down. Jodha told the police that his mother was slapped by the woman and he wanted to avenge the insult.

He has been booked under arms act and for wrongful confinement.
