60-year-old dies in Mumbai after autorickshaw rams into him
A 60-year-old man was killed after an rickshaw rammed into him on the Ghatkopar-Mankhurd road at Deonar. Even as the police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) they said it is still not clear how the accident took place.
According to the Deonar police, the incident took place at 10.40am on September 13 when the deceased, Kadu More, who worked as a security guard, was crossing the Ghatkopar-Mankhurd road. The blurred CCTV cameras footage shows two rickshaws speeding next to him, after which he falls and hits his head on the ground.
Based on allegation made by his son, an FIR has been registered by the police under section 279 and 304 A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for rash driving and causing death due to negligence against one of the two rickshaw drivers.
The drivers did not stop to help the senior citizen, and fled from the spot. They did not inform the police about the accident either. A youngster passing by took More to a nearby hospital in a rickshaw, but the he was declared dead on admission.
