61-year-old robbed of jewellery at Kurla home

Three women assaulted and robbed a 61-year-old woman of her jewellery after they barged into her house at Kamraj Nagar in Kurla.

The incident took place on Tuesday afternoon when the victim, Manda Nakase, was alone at home. According to the complaint, the three burglars in black attire forced their way into the house and tried to strangle Nakase.

“They tried to remove her gold bangles and chain. Despite her resistance, the trio assaulted her and fled with ornaments,” said an officer of Nehru Nagar police station.

After the incident, the victim called her sister-in-law Indumati, who was at work. Indumati reached the house and took her to hospital. She is the only working member in the family.

The assaulters had kept a watch on the senior citizen for the last three days, according to the complaint.

The police have registered the case under charges of voluntarily causing hurt and robbery.

Officials will also releases sketches to trace the accused.
