Mumbai senior citizen kills wife for saying ‘he has no brains to handle sale of bungalow’

Mumbai city news: According to the Vakola police, the incident took place at 9.20pm on Sunday. Rock D’Souza lived with his wife Salin Violet at Sundarnagar in Kalina.

A 65-year-old man went into a fit of rage and murdered his 57-year-old wife because she would fight with him constantly over selling their ancestral bungalow in Kalina in Santacruz (east). The accused confessed to his crime.

According to the Vakola police, the incident took place at 9.20pm on Sunday. Rock D’Souza lived with his wife Salin Violet at Sundarnagar in Kalina,. They were childless.

Rock and Violet wanted to sell the bungalow they lived in. They were looking for a good builder who could give them the best deal, but got into fights over it frequently.

A police source said, “The woman used to tell him that he had no brains and would get them a bad deal.”

Cops said that the man is diabetic and also had high blood pressure.

On the day of the incident, the couple fought again. To shut her up, the man strangled her. When she lost consciousness, he got scared and alerted the neighbours,” said a police source. She was rushed to VN Desai Hospital but was declared dead. D’Souza confessed to his crime. He has been booked for murder under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code. He has been remanded in police custody by a magistrate court.
