Doctors at RN Cooper hospital said they have medically induced labour to the 24-year-old rape survivor, who had urged the SC to allow her to abort the foetus as there was danger to her life.

“We have followed the Supreme Court judgment and have induced labour,” said Dr Reena Wani, professor of gynaecology and obstretics. “She is quiet and anxious. We will take it as it comes. It will take at least 18 to 24 hours,” she added.

The survivor is accompanied by her mother, said doctors.
