An Air India flight carrying around 200 passengers from Riyadh hit an aerobridge at Mumbai airport on Friday afternoon.

According to airport sources, the pilot allegedly misjudged the distance between the plane and the aerobridge. “Although the aerobridge was pulled back it hit the aircraft’s left engine,” said an airfield official requesting anonymity, adding that the aerobridge was also unserviceable for some time.

No casualties have been reported yet.

While the Air India spokesperson did not respond, a Mumbai airport spokesperson confirmed the incident. “The incident did not have any impact on flight operations,” said the spokesperson.
