In April, the officials allegedly conspired with the customs house clearing agent and importers. The accused allegedly gave false report in the articles imported which exceeded the quantity mentioned in the packing lists, resulting in revenue loss of the customs department.

The CBI has filed cases under section 420 of the IPC apart from 120 (B) which is for conspiracy, apart from sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.

After the cases were filed, teams of CBI’s anti-corruption bureau searched six premises of the accused which led to the recovery of incriminating documents on the alleged imports, said CBI officials.
