A 40-year-old constable attached to Kasarwadavli police station was feared to have drowned in the Gaimukh creek early on Friday. The police and a disaster management
team are yet to recover the body.
The constable, Bharat Rawate,40, slipped into the creek during a walk with his friends.
Parag Manere, deputy commissioner of Thane police crime, ruled out that Rawater committed suicide. “But we are talking to his friends and family members to know more about him.”

Regional Disaster management cell of Thane official said, “After being informed about the incident, we rushed to the spot. Because of the strong water currents, it was difficult to find the missing person. We are still working.”
A police constable from Kasarwadavli police station said, “We are still clueless as why he went to the spot.”
