A five-year-old girl playing near her house in Mumbai’s Bandra was picked up, raped and threatened by her attacker last week. The accused, Ronald Nahrona has now been arrested.
The police said Nahrona, who also lives in the area, lured the girl with chocolate, took her to his house and raped her on the afternoon of October 18. He threatened to assault her if she told anyone about the incident.
The girl, however, went back home and told her mother. On October 20, a case of rape was registered by the Bandra police under section 376 of the Indian Penal Code and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. Nahrona was traced and arrested the same day and was sent to police custody by a court.
