Eman Ahmed Abd El Aty thanked her doctors and the governments of India and Egypt for their help, in a video message recorded from her bed at Saifee Hospital. In the video, the 36-year-old expressed her gratitude, saying she could feel a difference between Egypt and India and that she felt much better here.
Special arrangements were made by the governments of both the countries, police officials and others to bring Eman to India at a cost of Rs 83 lakh, which was borne by the Saifee Hospital trust. The 1,000-sq-ft room in which she is receiving treatment used to be an accounts office and was renovated considering her needs.
Lying in her bed, with her sister Shaimaa beside her, Eman waved and thanked her 13-member medical team led by Dr Muffazal Lakdawala, the Saifee Hospital trust and governments of India and Egypt for their support and care.
