Externed criminal arrested for selling mephedrone worth Rs1.34L in Mumbai

The Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of the Mumbai Police Crime Branch on Tuesday arrested an accused who was externed from the city limits for two years on finding 68 grams of Mephedrone (MD) or Meow Meow drugs in his possession worth Rs 1.34 lakh.
ANC chief, deputy commissioner of police, Shivdeep Lande said the Azad Maidan unit of the ANC made the arrest. The accused is identified as Kamran Javed Shaikh, 29, a resident of Rehamaniya Crystal, Nishan pada, khadak, Dongri was externed for two years from the city limits from the Dongri police station because he was a repeat offender. Shaikh has two previous cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985 and 3 other cases under the Indian Penal Code against him
The ANC team led by inspector Santosh Bhalekar nabbed him from Wadibunder area. Apart from the drugs, a Honda maestro motor cycle worth Rs 40,000 has been seized from him. He has been booked under section 8(c) read with 22 (c) of the NDPS ACT.
