A fire broke out at Vashi’s railway station complex at 10:30 am on Thursday. No one was hurt. Two fire engines from the Vashi fire brigade took nearly an hour to douse the flames.

Police said the fire broke out at a private canteen on the second floor of the station complex. A few of the canteen’s employees raised an alarm and informed fire brigade officials.

Cooling operations took two hours, said officials.

“We have not yet been able to ascertain the cause of the fire. Investigations are ongoing,” said a fire brigade official. Trains were not disrupted owing to the blaze, said officials.
