In a gruesome incident, the 21-year-old son of a Mumbai cop allegedly murdered his mother, drew a smiley with her blood next to her body, with the words “Tired of her. Catch me and hang me”. In another unfortunate incident, seven people died after a jeep rammed into a truck on the Ahmednagar-Aurangabad road. While your commute to Bandra (East) through Kalanagar junction is about to get congested owing to the construction of a new flyover, the Maharashtra government has decided to revoke the Special Planning Authority (SPA) status given to Lavasa Corporation Limited in 2008. Also, Panvel residents on Wednesday cast their votes for the first time ever for the Panvel City Municipal Corporation (PCMC), which was formed last year.

The wife of a Mumbai police officer who investigated the high-profile Sheena Bora murder case was found stabbed to death early on Wednesday, and police said they suspected the couple’s 21-year-old son. Dnyeshwar Ganore found his wife with multiple stab wounds in their home at Vakola at about 1am on Wednesday, and a smiley was drawn in her blood next to her body with the words; “Tired of her. Catch me and hang me”.

2. Traffic jams, bottlenecks to make Mumbai’s Kalanagar junction a nightmare from first week of June

Your travel to Bandra east via Kalanagar junction is set to get more tedious. The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) will start work on a 1.5-km flyover that will connect Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) and the road leading to Bandra-Worli Sea Link (BWSL) from the first week of June. The flyover is part of a maze of three flyovers that will be built to decongest the busy junction.

3. 7 die as jeep rams into truck on Maharashtra highway

Seven people were killed and two injured as the jeep they were travelling in collided with a truck on the Ahmednagar-Aurangabad road in Maharashtra on Wednesday morning. According to the local police, the group was on a pilgrimage to a shrine in Buldhana. The driver of the jeep, according to police, lost control, hitting the truck head-on .

4. Maharashtra civic polls: 22% voting in Panvel, 16% in Bhiwandi till 11.30am

Around 22% of voters cast their ballot till 11.30am on Wednesday for the first-ever Panvel City Municipal Corporation (PCMC) elections. The Bhiwandi municipal corporation has recorded 16% voting so far. The Panvel election is being held for 78 seats in 20 wards.

Lavasa Corporation was given the SPA status in 2008, PMRDA was formed in 2015.
