The Versova police have filed a case of theft after valuables worth several lakhs were stolen from actor Vikas Shrivastav’s house.

According to the complaint, Shrivastav left for Dehradun on September 30. When he returned on October 7, he found gold ornaments and other valuables worth several lakhs missing from his cupboard.

Shrivastav approached Versova police, naming his roommate, an aspiring actor, as a possible suspect. The Versova police are questioning him to verify these allegations. Shrivastav has taken to social media, posting his ordeal on Facebook and accusing his roommate of the crime.

However, the Versova police maintained that Shrivastav’s roommate has been detained only for questioning and that his role in the crime is being probed. Senior police inspector of Versova police, Kiran Kale said the police have not ascertained whether he committed the crime.
