Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s sister Arpita’s house help has been detained on the charge of stealing cash and gold worth Rs 3.25 lakh from her residence at the plush Pacific Heights on Sherly Rajan Road in Bandra (West).

The incident came to light when the 35-year-old help, Afsa Khan, failed to report to work since Saturday.  Police said the woman stayed with Arpita and took care of all the household chores.

A complaint was registered, following which a police team spoke to Arpita’s driver and domestic help of neighbouring apartments and traced the accused to her home in Nalasopara from where she was nabbed, said senior inspector Ramchandra Jadhav, Khar police station. Her name was not registered with the police, although she had been working at Arpita’s home for the last year and a half.
