Yoga is being promoted by the Permanent Mission of India to the UN as a holistic means of promoting mental and physical wellbeing. The ancient practice which originated in India, has followers taking to their mats all over the world. As a nod to this global appeal of yoga, the UN observes June 21 as International Day of Yoga.
