Iqbal Kaskar arrested: Cops question key aide of Chhota Shakeel
The Thane police, however, refused to name the person they picked up
Key Chhota Shakeel aide Mohammad Ahmad Yaseen Mansoor alias Ahmed Langda, 52, who is also an alleged associate of a wanted accused in the Iqbal Kaskar extortion case, was reportedly picked up by the Thane police for questioning. Kaskar, fugitive underworld don Dawood Ibrahim’s younger brother, was arrested last week.
DCP Abhishek Trimukhe, however, refused to name the person they picked up saying it would alert the wanted accused. He said the “person who was picked up for questioning is a close associate of one of the four wanted accused in the case who made extortion demands on behalf of Iqbal.”
Top sources in the Thane police, however, confirmed the name. “From his (the detenue) questioning we want to know the whereabouts of our wanted accused,” Trimukhe said, making it clear all the four wanted accused in the case belong to the Dawood gang. He said the suspect’s aide was picked up from his residence at Teli Mohalla in the JJ Marg area.
“We are verifying the his criminal antecedents with the help of the Mumbai police,” Trimukhe said. Mansoor, has several cases of extortion against him.
