The Sakinaka police ascertained that the musician, Pravin Pujari, would have been alive had he been wearing a helmet. The pillion rider has been identified as Sumit Chandanshive, 17. The scooter has only a few scratches.

The Sakinaka police have booked Khumbar in a case of causing death by negligence under Indian Penal Code (IPC) 304 A.

The police have also filed a complaint against 12 to 15 locals who rioted and damaged the buses.
